Paula often helps families that have come together later in life. Sometimes these are called blended families or even just unique.
We want to meet our clients where we meet them. Whether they’ve had children or don’t. Whether those kids are special needs or not. Whether they have been married before this marriage or haven’t. Whether they have pets or don’t. We meet clients in their current life stage.
Especially with special needs children when your spouse is not the parent of those children, we have clients want to make sure children are taken care of in their passing. There are standalone special needs trusts, but those can also be within a trust for the couple.
We have to be careful to make sure each asset is accounted for. This can include a very custom plan and making sure everyone is on the same page.
